Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, has introduced major updates to Samsung Wallet, making digital payments and identity management even more seamless for Galaxy users. The latest enhancements — including integrated UPI onboarding, PIN-free biometric authentication, and expanded Tap & Pay support — mark a major step forward in redefining how users manage their financial and digital lives.

With these innovations, Samsung Wallet is evolving from a digital wallet into a comprehensive digital gateway — empowering users to manage payments, travel essentials, identification cards, and digital keys, all in one secure and connected platform.

“With the new updates, Samsung Wallet is no longer just a digital wallet — it has become a universal and secure gateway for digital payments, travel, and identity management. From setup to daily transactions, we’re eliminating friction and setting new standards for convenience,” said Madhur Chaturvedi, Senior Director, Services & Apps Business, Samsung India.

Seamless UPI Setup During Device Onboarding

Samsung has become the first OEM in India to enable UPI onboarding directly during the setup process of new Galaxy smartphones.

Now, when users power on their Galaxy device for the first time, they can register their Unified Payments Interface (UPI) accounts directly through Samsung Wallet — no separate app installation required.

This innovation shortens the journey from “unboxing to pay-ready”, simplifying digital payment activation and accelerating UPI adoption across the Galaxy ecosystem.

PIN-Free UPI with Biometric Authentication

Samsung Wallet is also rolling out biometric verification — using fingerprint and facial recognition — to streamline access and payments.

Users will soon be able to authorize UPI transactions securely with their device’s built-in biometrics, without having to enter a PIN each time.

This not only enhances security and speed, but also provides a frictionless payment experience. With biometric UPI access, paying securely is now as effortless as unlocking your phone.

Online Card Payments Made Easier

The latest Samsung Wallet update will allow users to pay online at select key merchants using their stored credit and debit cards — without needing to re-enter card details at checkout.

All cards are safely tokenized, ensuring faster, more secure online transactions and reducing the risk of data exposure during payments.

Tap & Pay Goes Global with FOREX Cards and New Bank Partnerships

Expanding its Tap & Pay ecosystem, Samsung Wallet will now support FOREX cards through a partnership with WSFx Global Pay Limited.

This will enable Galaxy users to make international contactless payments effortlessly while traveling abroad.

Samsung has also added AU Bank cards to its Tap & Pay lineup, broadening the network of supported banks and issuers within India.

Together, these partnerships extend the versatility and reach of Samsung Wallet for both domestic and global users.

Secure, Unified, and Built for the Galaxy Ecosystem

Samsung Wallet remains a central hub for digital essentials — from digital keys and ID cards to payment methods — protected by Samsung Knox’s defense-grade security.

Deep integration with the Galaxy ecosystem ensures consistent connectivity, privacy, and protection across devices, helping users manage their digital lives confidently and efficiently.

Availability

Samsung Wallet’s new features will be rolled out in phases across compatible Galaxy smartphones in India.

Users can update or download Samsung Wallet via the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store to access the latest functionality.
